Ninjas and Hump Day Distractions

This morning at 8am, I woke up to the sound of glass shattering in my writing room. It scared the bejeezus out of Akamaru, who promptly jumped off the bed and hid underneath it. My brave, loyal hound. Turns out that my display case of knives had fallen from its hook and broke. On the upside, my knives are now VERY accessible in case of random ninja attacks.

(The sweating baby sticker cracked me up so I had to use it.)

As you’ll see below, ninjas are my top pick for badass vagabonds. You can’t even see them sneaking up on you, which is why I keep my faithful attack dog near me at all times (yes, the same one who ran and hid under the bed at the loud noise — she’s a work in progress).

Anyways, feel free to use the This or That template below and put your own answers on social media (@authoreejudd so that I can see your answers and comment on them).

(I mean, if you’re a dirty cheater you can choose both)

dog or cat
I’m gonna say dog, since I have a dog but no cats right now. I love cats, though. The most regal assholes you’ll ever meet.

Netflix or YouTube
YouTube. Entertainment and education all in one.

phone call or text
Definitely text. I’m much wittier when I have time to think before I speak.

Facebook or Twitter
Uh… Facebook? I’m an Instagram girl because I love the pretty pictures, but I guess Facebook comes in second.

PC games or console games
PC. Is that even a question?

iOS or android
I love iOS functionality (but Android prices)

While walking: music or podcast
Music. You can’t dance to podcasts, fool!

big party or small gathering
Small gathering. Less people to embarrass myself in front of.

What’s worse: laundry or dishes
Laundry, because doing dishes is the devil’s work.

jogging or hiking
Dude. If I’m running, it’s because something is chasing me. Hiking, on the other hand, is awesome!

bath or shower
I love baths so much.

cups in the cupboard: right side up or right side down
I am the owner of a walking fluff factory, so the cups always go down or you’ll end up with fur sprinkles in your drink.

pancake or waffle
Waffles. So crispy. So yum.

iced coffee or hot coffee
Hot coffee lets you taste the flavour better.

ocean or mountains
Mountains!

book or ebook
Ebook. I know, I know, I’m a heathen. It’s just so convenient, though.

ninjas or pirates
Ninjas all the way! Ninjas have skillz. Pirates are just drunk and stinky.

werewolves or witches
If we’re taking about the werewolves and witches from Netherwere, I’d rather be a witch. Werewolves are freaking awesome, but hierarchies are not for me.

zombies or vampires
Zombies are more satisfying to kill. Plus, the vampires in Netherwere are straight up creepy as hell.

(It was tough, but I think I did a pretty good job making decisions)

Those last two This or Thats are specific to an awesome series called the Netherwere Trilogy, *winky winky*. A little shameless self-promotion. Although, this is my own newsletter so it kind of feels like I’m preaching to the choir. Meh. Any excuse to be shameless. ????

I also wanted to give a quick update on what I’m up to and how soon you can expect the next books in the Netherwere series to come out.

Book 1: Teeth
– In late stages of editing. It’s still early to give an exact publishing date, but you can expect Teeth to come out in July.

Book 2: Shift – I’m over halfway done writing the first draft, and it’s getting intense. There’s some big, juicy secrets revealed in this book.

Book 3: Nether
– This one is only loosely outlined. I know where it needs to go, and have an epic final battle scene in mind.

After the Netherwere trilogy is done, I’ll start two new series at the same time. One is a gamelit series (gamelit has role play game elements like levelling up and stats, and is hella fun) called Dungeon Diver. And damn, I’m practically salivating to get started on it.

The other series is gonna be a case of This or That. I have about 8 different series roughly outlined, and it’s torturous trying to choose between them. I’ll take a poll when I release Netherwere Book 3 to get your opinion on what to write next (since clearly I have trouble making decisions).

Cheers,
Elise “Indecisive” Judd
